Health cards
EHIC and GHIC do not apply in Andorra
According to the UK government’s travel advice, the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) and the UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) are not valid in Andorra. Treatment there is generally paid, and an accident on the slopes can include rescue and transport costs.
If you live in Spain or another country with its own agreement with Andorra, ask your health service what applies to you before you travel.

Insurance
What a ski policy should include
- Winter sports cover, including off-piste if you plan to ride it.
- Mountain rescue and transport from the slope to a medical centre.
- Medical expenses in Andorra and repatriation.
- Some resorts sell optional insurance with the lift pass: check what it covers on their website.
To carry
Documents for the trip
Carry your passport or ID card, your insurance policy and its emergency number. Andorra has a customs border with Spain; see the first-day guide for documents, roaming and lift passes. The transfer includes passenger insurance for the journey by vehicle.

Your first day: from landing to the hotel
Enter your landing time and your base. We add the time to get out of the airport with ski bags, the drive and a margin for snow or a changeover Saturday, and tell you whether you arrive in daylight and in time for an afternoon on the slopes.
- 11:30Your flight lands. Your driver is already tracking it.
- 12:10Bags, ski bags from the oversized belt and out to meet your driver (about 40 min).
- 3 h 14Drive of about 219 km to Soldeu, without traffic.
- +20 minMargin for a changeover Saturday: arrivals and departures fill the border and the valley.
- 15:44At your door in Soldeu.
- Sunset in Soldeu that day: 17:22. You arrive in daylight.
- You arrive in time for a short first session: lifts close at 17:00.
Planning estimates, not a timetable: we track your real flight and the time depends on the border, traffic and snow on the day.
