The plan
Friday evening up, Sunday evening down
- Friday: pick-up in Barcelona after work and dinner at the hotel. You arrive around three hours later and wake up at the lifts.
- Saturday: a full day from 9:00 to 17:00.
- Sunday: ski the morning and leave after lunch, or ski until the lifts close and travel back in the evening.
- Book both transfers at once: the second is the same trip with origin and destination swapped.

Short drive or most skiing
For a weekend, every minute on the road counts. La Massana and Encamp are the closest bases, just under three hours from Barcelona, with a gondola or the Funicamp straight to the slopes. Soldeu and El Tarter add about 15 minutes; Pas de la Casa about 30. See distances and drive times.
Sunday
The Sunday afternoon queue
On Sunday afternoons in the season, many weekend skiers go back to Spain at the same time and the customs check at La Farga de Moles can queue. Leaving before 14:00 or after 18:00 is usually calmer. The price does not change with the queue, but your arrival time does. Check roads and snow today before you set the time.

The season as a marked piste
Each stretch of the 2026-27 season has the colour of a piste marker: how hard it is to find a vehicle on those days. Black weeks book up first.
- Quiet: book a week ahead

- Peak: book as soon as you have your flights
